Truth or Rar3?

Meet Jasmine and Deng, creators and designers of a fresh, eclectic clothing line called Rar3 Designs.  This line is all about making their clients feel confident and well, “Rar3,” when dressing in their apparel.  Rar3 is for those who are dreamers of the world with a keen eye for fashion. It is for individuals who are exceptionally uncommon. Say hello to  Jasmine, who is one half of Rar3 Designs. Her personal style is tomboy meets girly. “During the day, I love jerseys from baseball to hockey.  It doesn’t matter the sport.  But, by night you can catch me in a cocktail dress and heels.”

Free Fab'rik!!

Hello dolls! It's been too long. Last night, Kwaw and I went to this Fab'rik event filled with food, fun, and most importantly, fashion.  If you are a frequent Fab'rik shopper, it's imperative that you know of the admirable things they are doing.  The event took place at Fab'rik's flagship store in Midtown, Atlanta.  This location is now known as the Free Fab'rik Community Boutique.  So ladies, if you are in the Atlanta area, get ready to clean out your closet because you can now donate your clothes to any Fab'rik location! Your donations will be placed in the Free Fab'rik location for purchase and what's even better, is these gently worn clothes and accessories start as low as $2 and nothing is priced over $20! All of the profits made from Free Fab'rik go back to their organization, whose mission is to restore dignity, confidence, and hope to young ladies who have lost theirs by helping them discover God's will for their lives through mentorship, job opportunities, and free shopping sprees.  So when you do decide to donate, they are accepting gently worn dresses, jeans, tops, jewelry, and accessories. After sipping on some wine and a little shopping, Rachel and I left with a few finds.

A girl who antiques is full of character...

Clothing is not the only thing Rachel and I thrift, we also thrift our jewelry.  The Goodwill occasionally has some good finds, but it is not my go to place to find jewelry.  I LOVE shopping at the antique store for my jewelry.  You'd be surprised, along with Lady R (Rachel's rap name btw), of all the beautiful jewelry surrounding you once you step in.  Now, it is extremely important that you have a budget when going because it can become very overwhelming with all of the options! Whenever I go without a budget, I end up over spending, but I leave with some Fab finds! I personally, love to look for brooches at the antique store since I collect them. If I still haven't convinced you to stop by your local antique store, then hopefully some of these reasons listed below will.

All Black Errthang!!!!!!!!!!! (Everything)

On a Monday night, while most were gearing for the week, I was heading over to DaNai's house to begin the "turn up".  DaNai, Chanel, Brittany (another Spelmanite) and myself took our festivities to Havana Night Club. We enjoyed ourselves and did a lot of catching up. Not to mention, we were in VIP with Bobby V listening to some of our favorite childhood hits like "Slow Down" and many more. What was special about our wardrobe that night was not our outfits, but our special head pieces which took our ensembles to the next level.

And the Winner Is...

A week ago, I was asked for a favor from my friend Kayla, the queen herself of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Grand Pi Chapter.Pageant season is back in full effect at my Alma Mater, Spelman College. What that means is that pageants are hosted by everyone, from Greeks to dorms at Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Clark Atlanta University.  Poor Kayla was in such a conundrum, since one of the judges backed out the day of the Kappa pageant.  She called me to the rescue to help judge the pageant. It was quite an experience watching a pageant from a judges perspective.  Oh, and of course I was accompanied by my sidekick, Rachel.

Antique Addicts

So after our Sunday Funday, I took Rachel to two antique stores, both in the same shopping plaza. First, we went to Finders Keepers Vintage Finds Antiques, where we spent hours browsing. The great thing about them is they have LAYAWAY! After shopping there, we somehow ended up at Ally's Attic. There we quickly browsed because we did not want to spend our money twice.

SUNDAY FUNDAY

My typical Sunday morning, like many of you, begins with waking up on time. This past Sunday, I managed to wake up at the exact time church service started, a repeated struggle of mine. With no hope of  making it to my favorite part of service (Praise & Worship), I decided to call it quits and watch service online. Coincidentally, DaNai called me shortly after to make sure I was heading to service. I hung up with new plans to accompany her to church. We both know spending time together means, wear your thrifted finds!

2 Chainz & 4 Friends

Last Tuesday, Rachel and I hung out with our old high school friend Glorie, who came back in town for a visit. He is doing big things in DC by the way (I had to take a moment to brag)! As usual, the sassy Chanel accompanied us only because it seems I can't go anywhere without her. We headed to Atlanta to Compound, a popular urban club for 2 Chainz birthday/album release party. We charmed the party each in our own individual style. Hope you and Rachel don't mind if I flood this post with some pictures because I LOVED my outfit that night!!!!

All The Single Ladies

This past Saturday was truly a night to remember! So here is the quick background info, I've had the opportunity to intern with costume designer/wardrobe stylist Lorianne Coppin on the set of the TV show 'Single Ladies' on Vh1. The season has neared the end of filming and I was invited to the wrap party.  I was accompanied by, you guessed it, the "Sassy" Chanel! The party took place at the sumptuous Georgian Terrace hotel in their restaurant and bar, the Livingston. To top off a night of great dancing and a room full of beautiful people, there was an open bar!! What more could two young ladies ask for, besides free drinks?!
Chanel and I decided to go for a beaded look, mixing both fun and elegance!

Queen of the Jungle...Rawr!!!!

I spent some quality time with my girl Chanel this past weekend.  We were looking to spend our night in a different atmosphere, so we headed to Buckhead, best known for its bars.  Originally, the plan was to go bar hopping, but we spent the night at one spot. We had a great time sipping on our drinks, adorning the dance floor, and watching girls twerk Miley Cyrus style.  The highlight of the night was of course, all about the FIT!

Flea Market Frenzy

I was advised to check out the Fairfax Flea Market once I got to L.A. FFFM is the place to be every Sunday from 9am to 5pm at Fairfax High School. I was pleased to find an endless parking lot filled with fine vintage pieces of jewelry, clothing and even furniture. I planned to look everywhere before making any purchases. Surprisingly, I left the market with countless shopping bags. To make my experience even better, it was only a $3 entrance fee! I look forward to debut of my fabulous finds in the near future. And for my readers interested in visiting FFFM, bring lots of CASH!!

CALI.FOR.NIA

For Labor Day weekend, I flew out to visit my bestfriend in Los Angeles, Califonia. Both of us being unfamiliar with LA we went out Friday night to Santa Monica Pier for some fair fun! We enjoyed powdered sugar funnel cakes and a brightly lit ferris wheel bringing back our childhood memories. Shortly after, we raised the bar and went out to Ma'Kai Lounge for some great drinks, dancing and mingling. To top the night off, I realized having a good time didnt mean spending a lot of my money. We were lucky enough to have free entry and I received 3 tasteful drinks for the price of one.

Photo Shoot!

It would not have been right if we didn't take the time to have a mini photo session after our scrumptious dessert and girl talk!

Fashionably Late

So this past Tuesday, myself, Rachel, and one of my best friends, Chanel, went downtown for a going away party. We thought we were running fashionably late, by an hour, but in actuality, we were 24 HOURS late! I give all the credit to my dear friend Rachel, who is good for being 24 hours late to gatherings. Any who, we decided to take the party to another restaurant and get dessert.
